Courses offered will vary from year to year.
They usually run for 6 nights from Sunday evening to Saturday morning. Fees for courses cover transport within the nature reserve for course outings, tuition by experienced leaders, accommodation in shared rooms, and hearty meals!
All courses are booked through our friendly caretakers. There is no discount of any kind on courses.

Photography Course 2 – with Keith Lightbody
November 15, 2026 – November 21, 2026 AWST
Cost – $995
During the workshop you will have the opportunity to contribute to recorded bird sightings at EBO and take part in weekly beach counts. Each day there will be guided morning and afternoon walks taking in the mallee woodlands, dune shrublands and the beach.
Beginning bird watchers will be helped with viewing and identification. There will be lots of opportunities for bird photography and Keith can help with locations, use of camera equipment and technique.
In the evening there will be a presentation using the EBO laptop and projector – this can include any birds photographed by participants during the day. Bird calls will be played for each bird shown and key identifying marks and traits will be discussed.
During the evening help will also be available for those still learning how to process their photos.
Attendees will need to bring their own binoculars if required and/or camera equipment. Spare batteries and a backup device for memory cards are recommended, plus a laptop if you wish to process your photos.
